If you're "run curious" but don't know where to start . . .

MRC's first ever Beginner 5K program kicks off this March!  Built with inclusivity and personalized coaching in mind, this program is perfect for all abilities and fitness levels.

Training Pre-requisites:

There are NO training pre-requisites for this program. Just a desire to learn and try new things!

Important Dates:

  • Orientation - Thursday, March 19th from 6-7:30 PM @ MRC Asheville
  • Program Dates - *10 Weeks* Saturday, March 21st through Saturday, May 23rd, 2026
  • Coached Workouts - Tuesdays from 6-7:30 PM and Saturdays from 8-10 AM (*no workout on Easter Saturday, 4/4)
  • Target Race - Beer City 5K on May 23rd, hosted by Kick It Events

Included in This Program:

  • Full 10-week training schedule
  • Coached workouts 2 x per week in Asheville, NC
  • Small group setting (max of 12 participants)
  • Injury prevention clinic and supplemental strength & mobility programs provided by AntiFragile PT
  • Discount on entry fee into Target Race
  • Mountain Running Company branded tech shirt
  • *Optional but recommended* - Professionally fit running shoes (~ $160 value)
